Furniture Designs
From 1973 to 1985, I made my living (or part of it in the 80s) designing and making furniture. My specialty was creating custom rocking chairs, mostly for wealthy customers. In 2016 dollars, my chairs would range in price from $1200-$1400. along with a couple of cheaper and not as popular designs. I also designed and made a number of other household items, as shown here. Making a living in this manner was relatively easy.
I worked exclusively with hardwoods, especially cherry, walnut, and red oak…often laminating them.
